Families for our next national holiday initiative
This Independence Day, the Maka Foundation transformed national celebration into tangible hope for vulnerable families across Liberia. Our outreach provided not just food supplies, but moments of dignity, relief, and renewed hope for households struggling to meet basic needs.
Each care package contained rice, oil, protein, and other staples carefully selected to provide nutritional support and ease the burden on family budgets. Our team worked closely with community leaders to identify those most in need, ensuring resources reached where they were needed most.
These images capture the profound impact of combining national pride with community care.
This impactful initiative was weeks in the making, combining careful planning with heartfelt service:
Our team conducted surveys and meetings with local leaders to identify the most vulnerable families and understand their specific needs.
We reached out to our network of supporters and partners to secure funding and in-kind donations for the initiative.
Over 5 volunteers completed our compassion-in-action training program to prepare for the distribution day.
After weeks of preparation, we successfully delivered food packages to 150+ families across 2 communities.
While we celebrate this milestone, we recognize that true independence requires sustained effort. Thousands of Liberian families still face food insecurity and limited access to essential services.
Our mission goes beyond holiday initiatives - we're building year-round programs that address root causes of poverty while meeting immediate needs. The success of this Independence Day outreach has opened doors for deeper community partnerships and ongoing support programs.
Your support can help us feed more families, inspire more children, and build stronger communities.
